Our cohorts are designed for those with schedules that do not allow for the same level of engagement as the Apprenticeship Program. We offer 4 a year at various locations around San Diego, and sometimes zoom. Follow the links below for more detailed descriptions of each cohort offering.

Dead MENTORs

Christian Saints show us what happens to a human life and personality when Christ's holiness works itself into someone's thinking, feeling, and acting. In this cohort we will explore the communion of Saints available to us because of Christ's victory over death.

lectio divina: Divine Reading of Scripture

Lectio Divina (Latin for “Divine Reading”) is an ancient Christian practice that invites us to read Scripture with our attention, imagination, questions, and application. We are good at reading Scripture for information, but what we truly desire is to listen to God’s voice through Scripture for the sake of Christlike formation. Our hope for this cohort is to introduce you to this practice of listening for God’s voice in Scripture.

Your faith in Jesus is personal and your love for him is real. But is it transformational? If you would like to become more like Jesus, we’d love to help.  

Join us for this cohort and we’ll explore 7 pillars of Christian Formation – Virtue, Prayer, Scripture, Tradition, Theology, Mission, and Worship – that through the centuries have given people practical tools to further their formation into Christlikess. 

The right tools are only part of the solution, however. We will also give you community and personal guidance in becoming the kind of person who can use the tools well – so they actually help you take on Christ’s character as you live more consistently in his presence.
